This bold and expressive workshop invites kids to unleash their imagination and creativity on a large scale using charcoal. 

They’ll learn practical art-making skills while experimenting with expressive mark-making techniques. 

Expect big drawings, big ideas — and a bit of mess!

This workshop will cover:

• Perspective drawing: how to accurately draw what you see
• Creating form and depth to make drawings look 3D
• Exploring charcoal materials: willow, pencil, compressed sticks, and white charcoal pencil
• Using drawing tools: blending stumps, mechanical erasers, smudging and lifting
• Charcoal techniques: applying tone, blending, gradients, pulling back highlights, and layering effects

This workshop is designed for kids who can focus and create for extended periods (up to 4 hours with a lunch break).

BYO lunch and water bottle – Morning tea provided.

- If you are unable to attend this workshop & give less than 7 days notice you can ask for a credit to be used at future workshops at the school to equal or lesser value. If of greater value the difference must be paid. Please contact hello@artschoolco.com if you are unable to attend.

- Workshop credit cannot be used towards term classes or the store.
